Casting of New Church Bells
John Taylor & Co, located at Loughborough, Leicestershire in England and commonly known as Taylor's Bell Foundry, Taylor's of Loughborough, or simply Taylor's, is the world's largest working bell foundry. It has been commissioned to make the bells for the new church.
From the John Taylor Website:
Australia, Rosemeadow, NSW, The R C Church of Our Lady Help of Christians: A contract has been placed for a new light ring of eight bells (Tenor 5 cwts in the key of C). Four new bells (Nos 2,3,4,& 7) will be cast to match four existing harmonically tuned bells that have been stored at our Foundry. New fittings will be manufactured for all eight bells, and a bellframe design will be supplied to Ron Shepherd, who will manufacture it locally and install the bells. A Taylor 1909 bell weighing 21 cwts will also be supllied via the Keltek Trust as a bourdon bell to the new ring. (Update: The construction of the tower to house these bells is underway but will not be completed until late in 2018. The new bells have been cast and all eight have now been tuned. Work on the headstocks and wheels has also been completed.)
